Asian Cabbage Salad from Yan Can Cook

Combine dressing ingredients:

  • quarter cup rice or raspberry vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. cooking oil (I used Canola)
  • 2 Tbsp honey
  • 1 Tbsp oyster-flavored sauce
  • 2 tsp prepared Chinese mustard
  • 1 tsp grated ginger (We found the Chinese ingredients at our local Asian market)


Toast 2 tsp sesame seeds in fry pan for 3-4 minutes, shaking pan occasionally.

In a salad bowl, combine:

  • cups packed shredded Napa cabbage (I just used a knife to cut thin strips)
  • half a red bell pepper
  • 1 Asian pear or apple (really now, any apple or pear would be good)

Pour dressing over salad and sprinkle with sesame seeds. It is wonderful!
